Each year brings the promise of exciting new garden trends that'll modernise your outdoor space and big predictions for how we're going to style, design, and use our gardens for the rest of the year.

We've shared the ten biggest garden trends for 2022 that provide you with plenty of new inspiration for upgrading your outdoor space and to make it your own personal haven.

One of the buzzwords for 2022 is 'solace', and this muted, calming collection of colours certainly turns our gardens into that as the world continues to figure out the 'new normal'.

Fancy fruit-tree fences
Last year it was all about mini patio orchards in pots, but this year we’re going one further and growing fabulous fences and garden features with fruit trees instead. This trend ties in with the rise in searches for garden screens and dividers to create visually separate zones. According to Etsy, there was a 157 per cent increase in 2021, and we can’t think of a nicer, more natural way to do this than with a fruit-tree fence.
We’re seeing them being trained as espaliers along wires between fence or pergola posts to create screening instead.
